The Origins of PunderStruck

After reading my comics, I'm assuming you'd like to know how this little show started and I know my "About" section is lacking in this department, so here's the scoop. I was born in Virginia and I read a lot of comics like The Far Side, Bizarro and Speed Bump, so I knew that if I ever made a comic, I would want it to be some kind of one-panel feature. But I didn't get the opportunity until late at night, when, while I thought about random things (like you don't), I suddenly got an idea for a story. Now, as an artist, I often get pictures that pop into my head at random points in time, but this was an entire idea for a strip. It was to be a mix of Puns, Dark Humor, and simple art. I immediately wrote down this idea. Then I spent a few months tweaking it, until finally I got PunderStruck.

Alright, I know I was ranting a lot back there, so let's check out today's comic and the story behind it (there's a picture of today's strip at the bottom of this post, plus I have it in my archives). Today's strip involves 3 gangsters on a game show (I'm great with kids, right?), but this is one of the few strips with a story behind it. I was sitting at home, watching Jeopardy, when I suddenly got the idea for Mobster Jeopardy. Okay, that wasn't much of a story, but whatever. See you on the flip side!
